Blessed Marie Rivier Catholic School

It is with a sense of excitement and great anticipation that the Prince Albert Catholic School Division (PACSD) and the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary announce that for the 2016-2017 school year, Rivier Academy, will be fully integrated into PACSD.  The new school name will be Blessed Marie Rivier Catholic School and will be operated by the school division.

Our Catholic education community has been very fortunate to have the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in our community since 1925.  Many students have been graced with the faith based educational programming provided by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary.  The Prince Albert Catholic School Division is pleased to continue to build upon the legacy of the Sisters by assuming the operations of the school.

This is an exciting step for our students as this partnership will enable the continuation of the mission of Catholic Education so strongly exemplified by the Sisters witthin our educational community.

Anne Marie Rivier, after whom the school is named, is the foundress of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Her principal apostolic service was teaching youth, with special emphasis on the education of the faith. Our school recognizes each person as a gift of God with great potential. Our specific goal is to give not only a sound academic training but, a complete human and Christian formation which will empower the students to become contributing, responsible members of Church and Society.

Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year. I am blessed to be principal of Blessed Marie Rivier Catholic School. We, the staff, are excited to begin this journey with our students and the community. As a Catholic school, we aim to work with parents/guardians and the parish community to establish a safe, positive and caring environment where gospel values are a lived reality.

We strive to enhance our sense of community. In order to achieve this goal successfully, all persons around us need to work together: students, parents, guardians and staff. Communication and collaboration are necessary keys to supporting the social, emotional, physical, academic and spiritual needs of our children. We invite you to be an integral part of this important work.

I look forward to working with the children, and feel enthusiastic about the growth and change we will all experience as we journey together through the school year.

God Bless!

Robert Tessier, Principal
