École St. Anne School was built on the West Hill in 1958, constructed to meet the needs of much expansion in this area. Its first principal was Sister Justine of the Servants of Mary order, and it is her name which is found on the dedication plaque of the modern auditorium which was later added. The Servants of Mary had taught in some of the other separate schools, notably St. John's, and were devoted in their extra curriculum teaching, such as that of the Ukrainian language at Saturday classes. Each school in the separate school system, while following certain fundamental principles, still possesses its own uniqueness.
